SOCIALISM
socialism |ˈsō sh əˌlizəm|
noun
a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
• policy or practice based on this theory.
• (in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.
The term “socialism” has been used to describe positions as far apart as anarchism, Soviet state communism, and social democracy; however, it necessarily implies an opposition to the untrammeled workings of the economic market.The socialist parties that have arisen in most European countries from the late 19th century have generally tended toward social democracy.

"Communism - Marxism & The Communist Manifesto
Communism, which is also described as "Revolutionary Proletarian Socialism" or "Marxism," is both a political and economic philosophy. The abridgment of Communism is enclosed in two primary writings: (1) The Communist Manifesto, which was first published in 1848 by Karl Marx, and (2) Principles of Communism, by Friedrich Engels. At the request of the Communist League, an activist group they were members of, Marx and Engels together authored The Communist Manifesto. The main goal of The Communist Manifesto was to focus on class struggle and motivate the common people to riot. Even more so, it was designed to envision a model government, whose economics would destroy the upper class - freeing the lower class from tyranny. According to The Communist Manifesto, Communism has ten essential planks:
* Abolition of Private Property.
* Heavy Progressive Income Tax.
* Abolition of Rights of Inheritance.
* Confiscation of Property Rights.
* Central Bank.
* Government Ownership of Communication and Transportation.
* Government Ownership of Factories and Agriculture.
* Government Control of Labor.
* Corporate Farms and Regional Planning.
* Government Control of Education.
Fundamentally, The Communist Manifesto was a rebellion against the extreme poverty of the lower class."

Watch this video of a very creepy parallel between Karl Marx 'A Communist Manifesto' and OWS Oakland protesters. These are not 'extreme infiltrators' these are the common voices of the OWS movement. I don't think they even know what they're saying is socialism and marxism, they've just been brainwashed by the progressive baby boomber free lovin' generation. Their children, my generation, are these kids out on the streets. They know the words and ideas, but they don't know the fathers. Theirs, or mine.

College Professor Offers Students Extra Credit for Attending Occupy Protest

Madeleine Morgenstern
A sociology professor at Northern Michigan University has purportedly offered her students extra credit for taking part in a local Occupy protest.
According to an email obtained by The Blaze, Professor Jeanne Lorentzen is offering students in her introductory sociology course 20 extra credit points if they attend an Occupy the Upper Peninsula demonstration with her on Saturday. Students who do not wish to attend the protest have the option of writing a 20-page term paper about a social movement to receive the same extra credit. Neither assignment is compulsory. The email says students who choose to attend must make a protest sign that can say anything as long as it’s not “offensive, rude or divisive.” To qualify for the extra credit, students must sign an attendance sheet twice, at the beginning and end of the march.
Lorentzen did not return multiple phone call and email requests for comment to confirm the extra credit offer, but a Facebook profile for “Jeanne M. Lorentzen, prof @ NMU” is filled with pro-Occupy Wall Street articles, photos and postings. She “likes” both the pages for “Occupy the UP” and “Occupy the UP: NMU Students and Faculty.”
On Thursday, she posted a MoveOn.org petition asking New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg not to evict the Occupy Wall Street protesters with the comment, “Please sign the petition!“ An earlier post notes ”Occupy Marquette is happening this Saturday.”

Hypocrisy in Quotes
“The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, ... added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That’s irresponsible. It’s unpatriotic." Yours Truly, Barack Obama 7.3.08
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." Yours Truly, Barack Obama 10.27.07
“Look, I’m at the start of my administration. One nice thing about the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I’ve got four years. A year from now I think people are going to see that we’re starting to make some progress, but there’s still going to be some pain out there. IF I DON'T HAVE THIS DONE IN THREE YEARS, THEN THERE'S GOING TO BE A ONE TERM-PROPOSITION.” Yours Truly, Barack Obama 2.01.09

Finding Freedom wrote:
Ok, lets see. Why is WI protesting? Well, they are billions of dollars in debt, in a very heavily unionized state. A Tea Party back republican is swept into office, running on cutting spending and reducing debt. What does he do? Well, he proposes that teachers, wait, are you ready for this... Lose most of their collective bargaining rights! GASP OMG Teachers being evaluated on individual basis for preformance pay? You mean now there is a chance that those horrible teachers protected by tenure and doing just enough to get by (come on, how much would you do, really, if you couldn't get fired?) have a chance of losing their job? New, young teachers most concerned with us being 14th in the world for college grads can have a chance? Because if you ask me, teaching shouldn't be about protecting jobs for senior citizens (if they don't preform well) or poor teachers JUST BECAUSE they are in a union with collective bargaining. It should be a highly competitive job, with concern for our future generations.
So what happens? Organizing for America (illegally) organizes unions and buses in hundreds of teachers shutting down dozens of schools. Because a 3rd party encouraging you to break your contract IS illegal, and calling out "sick" to protest, IS breaking your contract. Who is thinking about these kids now?And all for what? For 200 dollars a month. 5% paid into their pension, and 12% of their health care (like the rest of us). In recent days "they" have claimed that is not the issue, but to lose the bargaining rights. As I have already outlined, you can see what that is a joke, propaganda created by our nanny state so you always think the private sector and capitalism is evil. There is also a vote to opt in or out of your union dues. You mean, I dont have to have forced representation by a group that I dont agree with and is doing nothing to benefit the children? Also BTW, elite does not = "capitol elite" I was thinking more along the line of ohh I dont know, philanthropist. Ever hear of this thing called double speak? They got you good.
And yes, wait for it, WI also recently waived capitol gains tax for the first 5 years if you relocate your company there and is producing bumper stickers that say "Move to WI" - so in 4 years we'll see how their job growth is going. As James Madison once said, "dont increase taxes, increase the tax base". (Or do you want to demonize the forefathers too). Where in any of this in WI do they talk about the children? Its disgusting. They should be the center of attention on this.
And I just have to say, in general I am shocked how capitalism is demonized in this country when it is the foundation for our nation and the American Dream. Before we became the nanny state we are today, who funded all the hospitals, schools and libraries? The elite, whom today we make out to be the enemy. But.. would you spend if you knew the govt was going to do it for you? Unlikely.

If you watch the news, maybe even if you dont, I am sure you have seen the very violent protests in France. These protests led by unions and college students, are in response to the retirement age being raised 2 years from 60 to 62. France, as we all learned in history and french class, is a country we are slowly becoming. They have only about 6 or 8 unions, but they are extremely powerful because of the amount of socialist, government run programs, the biggest being health care.
What you DON'T see on the news, are riots to this extent this in the UK (although still present). A day after France announced budget cuts, UK announced 20% budget slash over 4 years, just as dramatic if not more so than France. But this isn't a socialist based country. The people havent been infantilized by the government and a lack of personal responsibilty for their health and welfare.
We are well on our way down one of these roads. In school we idolize France and its health system, but what happens when that is the only option? What happens to you when your only choice of well being comes from the government? I live with a pre existing condition, I am one of these people who this is supposed to help, I do not want to wait 6 months, a year who knows how long to see my specialist because now X% of people who now have health care are looking into treatment. Or maybe he has to expand his focus because of the influx of patients in his hospital. Or maybe, I'll never see him again, because Dr X has been assigned to my region and through referral, that is the only one I can qualify to see, even though I have had the same specialist for over 10 years, who pioneered in his field because of my family and the research he has been able to do because I drove to CT to see him (which btw has already happened, I am not allowed to see him anymore).
To many these sound like conspiracy or petty complaints but they are not so far fetched. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO FORCE YOU TO BUY ANYTHING. KEEP YOUR LAWS OFF MY BODY.

The Grasshopper & The Ant ~ A Modern Fable

When the winter comes, the grasshopper has nothing to eat and becomes desperate. He elects a president who promises that spreading the food around is good for everyone. The president demonizes the ant for being greedy and asks how he can live with himself when so many others have so little. An executive order is signed demanding that the any turn over 50 percent of his food supply to the government. The grasshopper laughs and plays the rest of the winter, getting fat on the ant's assets. The ant is depressed and resentful.
The next summer the ant stops preparing his home and storing his food and instead joins the grasshopper, singing and dancing all day. Unfortunately, all of the other ants make the same decision. The next winter, with no one left to exploit, the grasshoppers and ants all die of cold and hunger."

Occupy Boston commentary
When I finally left Cape Cod (Maybe you have too, I don't know your entire life, but I know you're living there now) I learned a lot. Yes, most people on Cape are ashamed of public assistance, we come from small tight knit communities. When I lived in Northampton, (not even a big city) I learned a lot from first hand experience about how people exploit the system. Because they can. Because they deserve it. People have kids to get welfare. Its true. People are faceless and nameless in the city. They don't care what you see. Some people don't want to work hard and they know of a big dumb gov't they can take advantage of.
The system is corrupt, and as I have said before greed is nearly inherent with money as we wash our morals away. But NYC didn't create this mess, DC is to blame. Take the protest to the policy maker. OWS has done a great job at changing the conversation, but they are in the wrong place.
I live in MA, yes, I am directly affected by and concerned about the amount of money the state is spending on this. This is not media indoctrination. I am concerned and active about my local community. I plan on living in Massachusetts forever, and I fully intend of having nice roads and big parks that aren't destroyed by people with liberal arts degrees who refuse a job because its "beneath them". This is not some fantasy, Dewey Sq is 3.5 miles away from me, It DOES cost me something, I am a resident. My public transportation to work is already in disrepair, I would really like to have that fixed. I think a cool 2mil would put a nice dent in that.
I'm not sure why anyone would aspire to be rich anymore, they have to give half of it away, and soon more.

53%
I am 27 years old, and an 11th generation American, a libertarian living in a blue state. Our family has never prospered. I moved out of my father's house 10 years ago. I was raised for half of my life, by one of each my dysfunctional parents. My childhood was traumatic, and we lived on welfare in a time when it was something to be ashamed of and learned from, instead of taken for all its worth, to 'get what you deserve'. I got my first job when I was 14 so I could have new clothes for the first day of school, for the first time in my life. When I was 20 and working two jobs, I decided to get an Associates Degree in Science. No one helped me. I found loans and grants on my own, and I am still paying them off. Due to medical reasons, I had to leave the Horticulture field for which I trained. I went on unemployment for three weeks, in a time where people were starting to hit their 52 week benchmarks. I went back to the restaurant industry when the economy started crashing down around us. I have been (bartending) for 5 years now. I don't make as much money as I would like, but I can afford my rent, a cell phone, to feed myself, and every few years I save enough for a new laptop. I work for tips. My hourly wage from my employer is $2.63/hr ~ you can bet the government takes 100% of that. If I have a slow night, well I make less money. Our local "occupy" movement will cost my state $2Mil if they stay through the month. This makes me angry. I am not demanding a pay raise. I am not demanding lower taxes, higher taxes, I am not yelling at the wealthy. I admire them, their opportunities. I do want reform, and I will never be one of the 1%, but I will never be represented by the 99%. I am the 53% and I don't make excuses.
