France, UK, socialism, unions, and the USA ~ VOTE VOTE VOTE

If you watch the news, maybe even if you dont, I am sure you have seen the very violent protests in France. These protests led by unions and college students, are in response to the retirement age being raised 2 years from 60 to 62. France, as we all learned in history and french class, is a country we are slowly becoming. They have only about 6 or 8 unions, but they are extremely powerful because of the amount of socialist, government run programs, the biggest being health care.
What you DON'T see on the news, are riots to this extent this in the UK (although still present). A day after France announced budget cuts, UK announced 20% budget slash over 4 years, just as dramatic if not more so than France. But this isn't a socialist based country. The people havent been infantilized by the government and a lack of personal responsibilty for their health and welfare.
We are well on our way down one of these roads. In school we idolize France and its health system, but what happens when that is the only option? What happens to you when your only choice of well being comes from the government? I live with a pre existing condition, I am one of these people who this is supposed to help, I do not want to wait 6 months, a year who knows how long to see my specialist because now X% of people who now have health care are looking into treatment. Or maybe he has to expand his focus because of the influx of patients in his hospital. Or maybe, I'll never see him again, because Dr X has been assigned to my region and through referral, that is the only one I can qualify to see, even though I have had the same specialist for over 10 years, who pioneered in his field because of my family and the research he has been able to do because I drove to CT to see him (which btw has already happened, I am not allowed to see him anymore).
To many these sound like conspiracy or petty complaints but they are not so far fetched. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO FORCE YOU TO BUY ANYTHING. KEEP YOUR LAWS OFF MY BODY.
